Janet Marie Stanhope

March 30, 1950 — April 30, 2026

New Port Richey

Janet Marie (Holderny) Stanhope of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Janet was born on March 30, 1950, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Janet was the beloved daughter of Dolores (Schwartz) and Richard Muenzer. When Richard passed away, Janet was lovingly raised by Dolores and her second husband, Walter Holderny Sr.

She is survived and forever loved by her beloved husband, Thomas (Tuck) Stanhope, their son, Thomas F., and her siblings Walter (Diane) Holderny, David (Diane) Holderny, Faith Ann Hoffmann, and Dolores (Daniel) Lorentz, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas’s parents, and her sister-in-law, Elaine Holderny.

Janet was a woman of deep and abiding faith, rooted firmly in love of her family and in Jesus Christ. Knowing her offered witness to a kind of grace that didn’t demand attention, it simply radiated. Her spirit was gentle, her love unconditional, and her life a living reflection of the servant heart she believed in so deeply. She didn’t just speak about faith, she embodied it in every small act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every sacrifice made without complaint. Janet demonstrated this in her care for the sick, the elderly, and the forgotten as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Each person was seen and cared for as a respected individual with dignity. Her life was defined by her acts of compassion, unwavering faith and her quiet courage, not by her illness.

Janet will be deeply missed, more than words can express. She lived her life quietly, but the impact she left behind speaks in a voice that will never fade. We do not grieve without hope, we trust that she has now seen the face of her Savior. In that eternal embrace, her joyful spirit lives on stronger than ever, reminding us all how to love. And so, we hold close the promise of Scripture, where it is written:

“Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord.” ~ Matthew 25:23
