Nivaldo Hilgemberg

It is with profound sadness and immense love that we announce the passing of Nivaldo Hilgemberg, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on September 17, 1945, in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, Nivaldo was the beloved son of the late Deraldo Hilgemberg and Itamira Pedroso. He grew up alongside his two brothers and sister, carrying with him throughout his life the values of family, hard work, loyalty, and love.

In 1970, Nivaldo along with his wife, Jurair moved from Brazil to Paterson, New Jersey, beginning a new chapter of his life in the United States. He worked for many years in warehousing, including at Globe Products Inc. in Clifton, NJ, and A. Zerega's Son Pasta Inc. in Fair Lawn, NJ, before retiring in 1998.

Nivaldo's greatest accomplishment, however, was the family he built and cherished. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and, most recently, a proud great-grandfather. He shared more than 55 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jurair Hilgemberg. Together, they built a life filled with family, love, memories, and unwavering devotion to one another.
In 2021, Nivaldo and his immediate family relocated to the Tampa, Florida area, where he enjoyed being surrounded by the people he loved most. Family was at the heart of Nivaldo's life, and his greatest joy was seeing his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson grow.

Nivaldo had a passion that could always bring a smile to his face, futebol (soccer). He was a true and devoted fan of his beloved Brazilian team, Santos FC. Whether watching a match on television or listening to the games, soccer was never far from him. His love for Santos FC was a special part of who he was and a cherished memory that his family will carry with them.

Nivaldo will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Jurair Viera Rosa Hilgemberg; his children, Josseley Hilgemberg and Niv Hilgemberg and his wife, Sandra Hilgemberg; his granddaughters, Alexandria, Nicole, and Rachael; his great-grandson, Noah; his nephew, Jeysan; his niece, Jelissa; as well as his extended family and dear friends.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, Nivaldo's legacy will live on through his family, the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

He was a man who crossed an ocean to build a life, worked hard to provide for his family, remained devoted to his wife for more than five decades, and found joy in the simple things especially being surrounded by the people he loved and listening to his beloved futebol.

His family was his greatest victory, and his love will remain with them forever.
