Richard L. Ponx

Richard L. Ponx, 86, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 21, 2026. He was surrounded by his immediate family. Richard was born on March 11, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Myra Ponx (Kaspert), three loving sons: Richard (Jenna), David (Jacque), and Michael (Donna), along with 6 grandchildren: Kali (Harrington), Jack, Alex, Matthew, Dylan, and Emma Ponx, and one great grandchild (Archer). He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Betty, stepmother Junita, sister Mary, and stepbrothers Craig (Saynor) and Bruce (Ponx).

Richard was a businessman to the utmost degree. He worked his way up the ladder and became company President at W-R Chemical Co. In 2005, Richard reached his ultimate dream of owning his own business by starting Accu-chem Industries in December of 2005. As the owner and sole proprietor, Richard ran Accu-Chem Industries for 21 years.

In addition to being President and running Accu-Chem industries, Richard enjoyed his dog Tramp, fishing, playing card games like Pinochle or Bridge, a good game of darts, a competitive game of chess, and spending time with his sons and wife. His work ethic can be seen in all three of his sons and his competitive nature is more then evident within his grandchildren.

Richard will be dearly missed, but his life will be celebrated through all the lives that he touched, knowing he is finally at peace with our Lord.
