Robert Henry Stoehrer, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born on May 27, 1944, in Ridgewood, New York, Robert was the son of Henry and Roselyn (Wangenstein) Stoehrer. He was the devoted husband of the late Patricia (Sander) Stoehrer, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage rooted in love, loyalty, and family.

Robert proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964-1967. After his military service, he worked as a driver for United Parcel Service before beginning a long career as a New York City bus driver, faithfully serving the city for more than 20 years until his retirement in 1995.

Following retirement, Robert and Patricia moved to Pasco County, Florida, where they embraced life on the water. Boating became one of his greatest joys, and he took pride in caring for his boats - many named after the most important people in his life. He and Patricia also loved travel and going on cruises with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter and togetherness. When he wasn't on the water, Robert enjoyed building detailed model boats, reflecting both his patience and lifelong love of the sea.

Robert was rarely without his beloved dogs, whom he cherished deeply. Known for his quick wit and warm sense of humor, he had a way of making everyone smile while always putting family first.

He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars, especially his cherished 1941 Chevy. He enjoyed watching car auctions, old Western movies, and listening to big band music - finding comfort in the timeless stories and sounds of another era.

Robert is survived by his children: Michael (Dorothy), Susan (Alan), and John (Christina); his grandchildren: Daniella (Nikko), Thomas, Joseph, and Isaac; and his great grandchildren: Luca and Thalia. He was predeceased by his sister, Janet (Stoehrer) Johns, sisters-in-law Gherri (Sander) Reed Contini and Phyllis Sander, brothers-in-law Joseph Sander, Robert Reed, and Mike Contini, and is survived by his brothers-in-law, Harold Johns and Frank Sander.

Robert's legacy lives on through his family, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
