Ruth Dean, 99, died on January 25 after a short hospitalization. She had resided in New Port Richey since 1978.
She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on Sept. 9, 1924 and attended high school and nursing training there. She became a Registered Nurse in the mid 1940’s and worked as a nurse in Terre Haute before her marriage to Robert Dean in 1947. Her husband died in 2001. The two of them lived in Greencastle, Indiana for 30 years. They had three sons who survive her. She had 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was very active in Maple Avenue Methodist Church in Terre Haute, Gobin Memorial Methodist Church in Greencastle and the First United Methodist Church in New Port Richey.
