William E. Lanier, 66, born in Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully in Hospice care on January 6, 2026.
Bill was survived in death by his loving wife, Sharon Lanier; his mother, Lori Foynes and his father, Billy Lanier; his favorite sister, Peggy Brock, his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Patty Lanier; his nieces, Lauren Lanier and Sara and Caitlyn Brock; his mother-in-law, Joan Keeton and sister-in-law, Lisa Godwin; and his favorite companion, Miss Kitty.
Bill worked in the Pinellas County Public Works Department. He retired from there with 30 years of service. His job title upon retirement was Chief County Engineering Inspector. He received OUTSTANDING ratings on his annual reviews and was highly regarded by his peers and others.
Bill was known to always have a project going, whether he was working on his own home or helping a friend or family member. Someone you could always count on, he gave his time and skills freely and without hesitation. He was a devoted husband, a loving son, a caring brother, and a loyal friend – roles he carried with pride and kindness. An animal lover at heart, he showed the same compassion and care to animals as he did to the people in his life. His steady presence, generosity, and willingness to help will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at Morgan-Kaduk Funeral Home, 6025 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653 on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Donations to Suncoast Hospice are greatly appreciated.
